Biological Diversity:
From Evolutionary Origins to Ecosystems Function
A Bicentennial Symposium to Celebrate 200 Years of Research
What
On March 21, 1812, seven gentlemen naturalists founded the Academy of Natural Sciences, the oldest continuously operating natural history museum in the Americas and a world leader in biodiversity and environmental research.
We are having a bicentennial symposium in October 2012 to celebrate our 200 years of scientific research. Building on our research strengths in systematics and ecology, this symposium will explore current and future research on the diversity of life with a focus on evolutionary biology, ecology, and environmental quality.
